From 7 April to 23 July, Bologna will breathe in even more Japanese culture and history with the arrival of the art exhibition ‘Yōkai The ancient prints of Japanese monsters“, in the fascinating 15th-century rooms of Palazzo Pallavicini, located in Via San Felice 24, a 10-minute walk from the Locanda dell’Orsa.
The exhibition, which has already met with great success in Monza, describes the wonderful world of monsters in the Japanese tradition, thanks to the use of well over 200 works from the 18th and 19th centuries. These are mostly antique prints, rare books, clothes, weapons and even samurai armour. In addition, the Bertocchi collection of Netsuke, i.e. small ivory sculptures used in the past as clasps, will also be on public view.
