Until 12 February, it will be possible to admire the exhibition “Steve McCurry. Animals” at Palazzo Belloni in the historic centre of Bologna. The presentation highlighted all the emotions from the animal world captured by the famous photographer Steve McCurry, who can transform simple photographs into works of art.
The exhibition presents sixty shots in which animals are the protagonists and create a bond with man. Various themes are covered: the work and sustenance that animals give to humans, the consequences of human action on local and global fauna, and the affection that humans lavish on their pets, regardless of their species.
Steve McCurry in Bologna: the story behind the Animals exhibition
The Animals project began in 1992 when McCurry was engaged in the Middle East for the Gulf War. There, he documented the disastrous impact of the conflict on the environment and wildlife, taking some of his most famous shots: camels crossing burning oil wells and oil-covered migratory birds. From these tragic events, McCurry began to show his empathy for animals, always trying to immortalise them in his reportages.
And you, have you yet to see the Animals exhibition, just a few minutes walk from the Locanda dell’Orsa? Make haste; you have until 12 February!
